Campaigns - Begur
The objective of the Begur 2012 campaign was to collect digital satellite TV signals at X and Ku-bands reflected on the sea surface. An up-looking parabolic dish antenna was pointed to the ASTRA satellite cluster, and a broad beam antenna to the sea surface were the reflection points were expected. Antenna polarizations were linear. The set-up was mounted on a scaffold to avoid obstruction by nearby vegetation, and the experiment extended over three days. The PARIS interferometric technique was employed, delivering complex cross-correlation waveforms between the direct and the reflected signals with 1 millisecond coherent integration time. Observations were done at different receiver bandwidths spanning from 4 MHz to 40 MHz. |
